The C5 moves the USB-C connector off the main PCB and onto a replaceable board. It follows the Unified Daughterboard standard for its connector, mounting and pinout.

This is the same daughterboard offered as an add-on with the Sovrial 65% PCB. The standalone listing is for a separate build, a spare or a replacement.

Compatibility

The pinout matters.

Designed for the Sovrial 65% PCB and builds using the Unified Daughterboard standard. The case also needs the correct daughterboard mounting position.

A 4-pin connector alone does not establish compatibility. Check the PCB documentation for the Unified pinout; do not connect a board with a different pinout. Ask support if you are unsure.

Do I need this with the Axial65 kit?
The daughterboard and JST cable are already included with the Axial65 kit.
Do I need this with the Sovrial 65% PCB?
Only if you do not already have a compatible daughterboard and have not selected its daughterboard add-on.
Is the cable included?
Only when the JST SH 4-pin cable option is selected. The default selection is the board without a cable.
